Ashton Agar, take a bow. 'Stumping' incident aside, incredible innings.
Love the ebb & flow of a game of test cricket.

Sorry it's late but what a fantastic day I had yesterday at Trent Bridge! On the tv 4 times, sat 2 rows in front of the fanatics, the view was great, the beers were cold and the cricket was well...not how I expected. A great fightback from England last night, hoped they would finish off the Aussies earlier than they did but still did a good job! Jimmy had the crowd going last night and when it was announced we would bat under yesterday's conditions I'm not sure many people were too keen on us batting first and not exploiting a swinging pitch with the best swing bowler in the world playing.
Come on England!!!

This is KP's chance to make a big score when England really need it.

This is embarrassing - a debut no 11 can make it easier than an opening batsman and a normally reliable no 3. I knew it wouldn't pay to be overly confident about our chances in this series.

2 runs ahead at the mo - bit of digging in going on Does make you wonder how a number 11 on debut can score near on a ton and our top 6 batsmen go so cheap, esp when you consider the aussies batting line up was supposed to be their weakness AND we have the best bowler on view in JA I guess its why test cricket is so enthralling Ebb and flow IF we manage to get a decent lead its ours for the taking IF

So, on watching the highlights, Agar was out twice in one ball on six- caught and then stumped. Thanks Mr Erasmus.
Still, can't take anything away from the debutant as he was changeless after that and showed a whole lot of more distinguished batsmen up. Suspect that's the last time he'll bat at number 11 in his career.

Smart play from Lehman. Wouldn't have picked him in the first place if he didn't think he could do a job, but puts him at 11 to keep the pressure off. Agar rises to the challenge and won't bat 11 again. He'll be coming out at 3 or 4 the way the rest of them are going.

Great day of cricket ahead. You almost get bored of hearing how matches like this show the supremacy of Test cricket, but it's so true. Now our middle order has to fire, and bat as long as they can because the pitch will only get tougher. I fancy Root may have a role to play with the ball if it starts to turn as much as they expect. Ideally, we don't want them batting until mid morning or lunchtime tomorrow.

I'm going today. Can't wait but this could still easily go either way. I'll be happy if we bat all day drifting along at less than 3 an over mind. Need to set it up today and tomorrow.

Nice & boring first hour. Just what was needed. I'm going to stop writing now for fear of jinxing it.
