Good afternoon

I am launching a Homeless Token Initiative that the club have fully backed me on and just wanted to share it with you and if you wanted to help then of course feel free.

We are waiting for tokens to be produced and these can be purchased for £1 at the ground from all kiosks, shop and the bars on matchdays and throughout the season.

These can also be purchased as a donation when you purchase anything at the online store.

Monthly we will add these up and the proceeds we can then use to purchase the bneccessary food blankets etc to be able to distribute to those directly impacted by living on the streets

Great initiative. Well done!

I wonder if the club could manage that 'do you want to round up your bill with a charity donation?' thing that McDonalds do to boost your donations? I have had a few friends who have had to use a Ronald McDonald house and always hit the donate button. Might work well for this down the line, but presumably needs some IT wizardry.

Good idea. I'm a bit of a goofball with my bank accounts having random penny amounts so whenever I get the option to round up, I always go for it. Every little helps and all that.

I very very rarely buy anything in the kiosks at the CG mate, but with that said, the ticket cost for my dad and I for Saturday was £49, and I would have been more than happy to round that up to £50 to contribute to the Homeless Ticket Initiative. I know it's through Ticketmaster and getting that to work has been a ball ache for the club, but do you think it's something they might be able to integrate? I'm hoping to go to roughly 1 home game a month and would happily contribute in this way each time I purchased a ticket.

Fantastic idea and extremely worthwhile. Hope the club really push this on socials as there seems to be a pretty good “feel good” factor around the club at the moment, which is refreshing to say the least.

Saturday hopefully we get 10k plus be a great day to push in and around ground.

How do you ensure the £1 goes to the charity/cause? Are you banking on the good nature of the cashier or club? Genuine question.

I imagine it'll be a line item on the till. So in theory all the £1's get tallied up and bunged over to the charity.
Great initiative, will buy a beer or two tomorrow to make sure I can make the most of supporting the cause  Wink

Cheers buddy and yes that is right. It goes through the clubs tills and monthly we add it up and distribute between the 3 charities. Will be ordering through the clubs food suppliers to start but hoping it becomes a cased of we can just get the donations and split between the 3 charities so they can order what they need more efficiently
