I have been to see it once. In the early 90's. I remember seeing Hawk (LOD) now dead and Ultimate Warrior.

ECW is better than everything but i prefer TNA these days, AJ Styles is ace.

WCW was good from 96 to about 98 with the NWO, but they were soon surprassed by Stone Cold....even non wrestling fans knew who he was, hell people used to go around school stunnering each other....

Hogan was never much a of wrestler if you will, but he was an entertainer, he built the wrestling house

Ric Flair is also a great entertainer but a good in ring worker, lots of good feuds with lots of good matches, brilliant seller

Stone Cold, like Hogan helped re-establish wrestling in the late 90s. He really put it back on the map, hell of an entertainer and well know even in non wrestling circles. People often sited that he wasnt much of a wrestler and was a brawler. This was the style that went with his gimmick, he could wrestle with the best of them and did when he stepped in the ring with the likes of Angle & Beniot

Mankind, or rather Mick Foley...very original didnt copy other people. Never about the money, or being famous always about the fans. Always willing to go that extra length to produce something unexpected and spectacular for the fans entertainment. Very willing to put his body on the line to do so.

then has since come back twice more to just be annoying. but the second time was quite good as it was hogan v micheals. that wasn't too bad, and hogan won  :(

i used to go and watch wrestling in mexico city, it was fuckin amazing, the ring had to be caged off as the crowd were constantly lobbing stuuf at the wrestlers. best afternoon entertainment ever.

Mexican wrestling fans are notoriously more heated than elsewhere in the world. It seems that the tale of how fake it really is never spilled into Mexico. Just look at the AAA/IWC event When Worlds Colide (promoted in conjunction with WCW), that event truly showcased what the Mexican fans thought of wrestling. And the things they hold sacred fascinate me, just the perfect non-American attitude to it. Masks are sacred, you lose a mask, you lose your identity. It's a true insult and you can never re-mask. Indeed, Eddie Guerrero was the only wrestler ever to unmask by choice in Mexico (as in not by stipulation). There are tales of fans stabbing a heel wrestler because he defeated or unmasked a face.

I used to love Demolition (Axe & Smash era) back in the day.

My housemate at Uni had a Paramedic uncle.  He was called out after Sid Justice was stabbed with a table knife by another wrestler (forget who).  Apparently the injuries were not actually that bad but he cried like a girl and repeated over and over again "I want my momma".

I dunno about that, Royal Rumble 04 was considered better than the 92 one when Flair won it, I totally agree. It's hard to come up with a different ending every year, but that was just a great finish, a great showing by Benoit. I still think they're great anyway as it's the start on the road to Wrestlemania.
