Quote
Wycombe's managing director Steve Hayes, said: "It was an insult to the player and the club.

"It made me angry. This is a player who was one of the top scorers in the division last year.

"He scored against three Premiership sides in the cup and is now a Welsh international - and they are offering that. It is taking the mickey."

This coming from the club that offered us £50,000 for Danny Invincibile???  Twats!

I think he needs anger management therapy. All he had to do was turn down the offer. No need for the anger. He needs to think of his blood pressure.

I bet we'd be publically upset if the situation was reversed. Even if it was to try and talk up the price, coupled with trying to appease the fans if he does leave;"We tried to keep him".

IMHO it is going to take silly money (500K+) to prize him from Wycombe, especially this close to the start of the season where they would have little time to find a replacement. If they are desperate you never know I suppose.

My guess  - We get Holmes and A.N Other in on loan. When (if at all) does the loans window close?

Here you go, got it sorted now:

England June 1st to August 31st January 1st to January 31st Premiership and Football League clubs. Note: Clubs from the Championship to the Conference can loan in players from September 8th to November 23rd and also from February 8th until March 23rd.

Good work wheretherealredsare, thanks. So we can always dip our toe into the loan market if the Easter bid fails I guess.

Aye, but when PS says "by the deadline" I guess he means 31/8 for permanent and loan deals with the option of 8 days later to have another crack at loans if necessary. Hope we are all sorted by the end of this month.

If, for example, Easter hasn't signed for anyone by then  he could be loaned from 8/9 and signed on a permanent deal in January next year. Danger is he could be recalled, or snatched by another club if he does well. On the other hand he would be on display in a higher league window, possibly proving he can perform there.

PS You can call me wtrra. I don't write to myself (yet  Tongue ) so bleedin' long user name doesn't bother me. Seemed like a good idea at the time

No you're not.

You're being a pessimist.

But don't ever change Bart There's something comforting about your cynical and rigid views.

I really hope we don't offer any more than £200K. He really isn't worth that much!
