How is it? Please explain!
There is a takeover in process. By all accounts the new owner has a new manager lined up. That manager will want his own players.
So, how is it a stretch that the new manager just doesn't fancy a particular player who's already 'sort of' at the club and has not yet signed a full contract?
I'm hardly writing some far-fetched fantasy here. Managers turn players down all the time.
There is no way that happened though with everything that is happeneing

It says he cant relocate from Exeter due to family reasons.
Be interesting to see who he signs for…

To be fair to Sweeney he said when he joined he chose us because he wanted some security for his young family. He now has zero security as players are not getting paid and he has no idea when that payment will happen. Clearly there will be other offers on the table for him, he may choose the initial offer from Exeter after all.

The fucking players haven’t been payed?! Would you stick around if on your first day your turn the manager who signed you had left after one week, the ceo had gone, there was no one around, and none of your team mates had been paid
I fucking know that,. I don't need to be told, thanks. And I have not ruled this out as a reason, have I? But THERE IS A TAKEOVER IN PROCESS. It's not as though things aren't expected to get fixed. And you'd think the new manager has spoken with players. Again. It's hardly far-fetched that a manager just does not fancy a particular player.

I think it is a bit far fetched that if Clem could intervene in anything at the club at the moment, it would be getting Power to agree a mutual termination with one of our summer signings, though.
Of course, if it's just the first thing to reach the press then maybe Clem/new manager designate are pulling the strings behind the scenes. But that feels like optimism, and we know where optimism leads at STFC.

I can see both sides of the debate but if the guy has a young family with a big mortgage etc and money isn't going into the bank who could blame him for quitting even before he's played a game.

Ha ha ok mate. One question, why would Lee Power approve a man he hasn't employed to tear up contracts of players he has signed

Who said Power even had anything to do with it? He's not even paying the staff FFS so why assume he's making any decisions?. There's loads of assumptions being made at the moment. Managers turn down players all the time. Again, it's hardly in the realms of fantasy - it happens all the time. But I'll just leave it at that. It was only a suggestion at what 'might' be the case after all, FFS.

It was a suggestion that many think is unrealistic and disagreed, thats all
