I wish I knew what it was that was crashing and what it was causing it! I got right on it the moment in went. We had over 2GB of ram going unused and the CPU was only peaking at 25%... I'm guessing there's not enough connections on MySQL so when it starts to stutter, all the refreshes crashes MySQL. Fantastic night.  Reminiscient of Luton and Wycombe away under Andy King in our playoff season of 04/05, and not just because of the score.  The support was brilliant, poor Steve Evans didn't stand a chance.  We looked the home team in the first half and played some neat, tidy stuff.  The goal did come out of nowhere, and did appear to be a lucky deflection, although couldn't really see it from the away end.

Half time and Crawley came out fighting.  I despise footballing cliches, but second goal was indeed crucial.  Had Crawley nicked the second it would have been a very different game, but I don't remember having to make a save of note.  Connell was unlucky to go off - injury perhaps? - but at least di Canio was reactive to the Crawley pressure and Kerrouche put the game beyond doubt.  He never looked like missing the third to cap an excellent night.  Three wins on the bounce, that's genuine promotion form.

Special mention for Miles Story who terrified the fuck out of them when he was brought on...  Thought he was brought on a little early, and he did look a little rusty, but seems to be deserving of his place in the squad.

Which leads me to an obvious point. We have what is starting to look like a good squad for the league, not just a good first 11. If we can tighten the defence up (yes two clean sheets) it could be a good season :)

First ten minutes of the second half, yes, I think I along with most of the Swindon End were going for every ball pumped into the box.

The difference about our support tonight was that it was positive.  There were a couple of pricks who badgered the stewards - who did a good job in the circumstances - and whinged when we whacked the ball aimlessly forward, but mostly there was a good vibe.

There was a line in Sky's Rotherham coverage where they said how Swindon were applauding the ideas, even if the move didn't come off, and that's exactly how it felt tonight.

Yep, the ref was the reason they lost three nil at home. I expect the officials were at fault for the six they shipped at the weekend too, weren't they Steve?

Crawley Town forum...  I've been trolling the last few weeks.  I thought it only fair given that I live half a mile from the ground.

Part of me was hoping it was evans.

Classic away performance, stroked it around 1st half and made them huff and puff, second half they had a lot of the ball without looking dangerous, and then fair play to pdc he took connell off and and went more defensive for a few mins, and then the master stroke put Storey on and all of a sudden bang,bang, good tactical nous from PDC, best away day for a couple of years for me, if we play like that every game we wont lose again. (which of course we wont) but we are looking a decent outfit.

Got back about half an hour ago, what a fucking night and a great performace.

First half, we were on top for the majority of it, and we dealt really well with all the balls they put into the box. McCormack shone againg playing out of position, looked like a natural CB. No idea what happened with our goal, looked like a De Vita overhead kick from where I was, but who gives a fuck!

For the first 20/25 minutes of the second half, Crawley put us under a lot of pressure and we did really well to withstand it, although I felt we could have tried to keep the ball a bit more in that period. Then we scored a great goal on the counter and we are firmly back in control and just to make things even better, Kerouche adds a superbly taken third.

No bad performances out there tonight, Lanzano did what he had to do well, Caddis was great again, him and Ritchie are a real threat down the right. Stand out performance goes to Kerouche, who was absolutley brilliant, not only does he work really hard but he has great technical ability. Thought PDC Used the subs well tonight aswell.

The town fans were fantastic tonight, gave Evans plenty of abuse and I think he finally snapped near the end when he gestured towards us! Looks like we have a great team spirt, with the celebrations at the end proving that, loved Di Canio celebrating on the pitch with his Swindon hat on!

Some wrongly questioned Di Canio's mind games but actually PDCs response to Evans criticism increased the edge and volume to the great away support.  

Many annoying but good players can improve their game to our detriment in the face of abuse, but all Evans did was make himself look the twat he is and he could do nothing in the technical area but try to ignore our abusive chanting and concentrate on his coaching job.

Last year I saw the likes of Ferry behaving like little school kids on the sidelines whereas this year the discipline and dedication was different class. I have to make do with a punch in the air. it's hilarious. if I'm with my ol man or whatever you just shout random shit like' fucking come on' or fucking get in', but on radio you have to be sensible. It's good fun, but hard when it's like that. You just wanna go ape shit.

Got back about an hour ago and have just read this whole thread, very entertaining - especially the post-match comments!!

We dominated the first half really, the only criticism being we gave the ball away a little too easily at times. No idea what happened for the goal really, let's hope Connell was two yards offside so we can all picture Evans eploding in rage when he sees it. As for his claims they should have had a penalty, it would have been soft.

Second half they came out and went at us. You have to give them some credit, but we were all over the place. Thankfully though we did well enough to stop them getting shots at goal. Having sustained lots of pressure, Miles Storey came on and suddenly gave us an outlet. He made a couple of mistakes but his presence and pace meant that when we cleared the ball it wasn't coming straight back each time. Two nicely worked goals towards the end weren't really deserved on our 2nd half display, but Crawley left big gaps and we exploited them perfectly.

Great clebrations for the third goal and at the final whistle. Such a bond between fans, players and the manager. No idea what Paolo's beanie hat was all about but it meant I left the ground with an even wider smile on my face!

Great night, great win. The Evans-baiting was most enjoyable.

Must admit first 30mins of the second half was very nervous as we couldn't get out of our own half, thought the game had late equaliser written all over it.

PdC's fitness regime is clearly starting to pay dividends though with the late goals against Rotherham and again last night, it's a great attribute to have as you start to believe you can always get back into a game even late on.

Defence was impressive again, even without Flint, and while our box was under pressure second half it was good to see we seem to have improved at clearing crosses and corners, I don't think they had a decent shot on target all game.

Kerrouche is looking class and even though he looked knackered was still chasing down everything at the end.

Defintely worth a mention for Storey, changed the game when he came on by stretching their defence, great to be able to bring on some pace off the bench and looked confident running at defenders. Will be interested to see how he progresses as the season goes on.

What makes the three goal winning streak impressive & frustrating at the same time is the teams we have beaten (Rotherham, Southend, Crawley) are, on paper, tougher to break down than the teams we lost to (Cheltenham, Dagenham, Oxford, Shrewsbury) in the four match losing streak that immediately preceded it.

After the Shrewsbury defeat we were:
  - 10 points adrift of top
  - 7 points adrift of the automatic promotion places
  - 6 points adrift of the play off places; and
  - 1 point above the relegation zone.

But three wins later, and we're:
  - 5 points adrift of top
  - 2 points adrift of the automatic promotion places
  - 1 point adrift of the play off places; and
  - 7 points above the relegation zone.

Nice little turnaround, that.  We need to maintain the trajectory in to the next 6 league games against Burton, Barnet, Macclesfield, Hereford, Accrington & Plymouth.  Not saying we're going to win all of these, but they are all winnable.  Top three within the next month is a realistic objective.

It was the best of times,it was the worst of times.Torturous first 30 minutes of the second half when it just seemed inevitable that Creepy would score but the last 15 minutes were the best I've experienced for a long time.Id say MaCormack makes an excellent centre half and Devera played well also-how they dealt with half an hour of total bombardment was very impressive.Couldn't understand why it took so long to replace Abdulla with Ferry who along with Storey turned the game.

Best away day I've had in a while.

Crawley didn't really offer anything bar a spell in the 2nd half. McCormack was immense I thought, Storey showed a lot of promise, and well KErrouche, looks like we've found a gem there.

Crawley supporters were shit, the noise from our end was immense and we outsung them the whole game. Did you see Di canio hug fatty Evans at the end? Made me chuckle. Evans couldnt deal with the abuse coming from us, he was not happy haha.

They have been brought back to reality with a bump and I don't think they will make the play offs.

Our fitness levels are ridiculous, a lot of teams can't handle it and I feel we will win the majority of our games in the last 20 mins or so.

Definately one of the best away days for a while.

Last night was the first time for ages where every single fan was behind them for 100% of the game.  Didnt hear any negative comments even when we were a bit shit for the first 20 mins of the 2nd half.

A real battling performance and i had that feeling of pride in the boys as i walked out.

Look at the way non-goalscoring players are throwing themselves into our fans. Granted one is Simon Ferry and he's a little crazy but accoring to sauces he was out of here a month or so ago.

The celebrations after the third goal were great - all the players were involved, they were delighted for Kerrouche, and they wanted to celebrate with the fans too. Ferry took it a bit too far, but that's only to be expected! Kennedy amused me - joined the huddle of players then just stood there with a massive grin on his face looking at the fans going mental!

Lovely through ball from Ferry for the 3rd goal and good to see that Ritchie was at the heart of nearly all the attacks - might be tough holding onto him in January.

Great to see Ferry launching himself into the fans right at the end there. You wouldn't get that sort of celebration with last season's squad.

What do you mean? I frequently recall the squad running the length of the pitch to celebrate with Paul Hart after yet another Dossevi wonder goal.

I was always convinced we'd be going up as champions (like I am every season...), but I think we're going to be points clear at the top in Jan and I'm hoping that players might want to stay with the revolution.

I don't think Richie would do what that striker at Burnley did and engineer a move. I think he really loves being part of Paolo's "family" and will remain a key part of it until at least the end of the season.

Ritchie seems like the model professional, and was one of only two players from last season that even deserved a move to a better club in the summer, however he stayed as it seems he loves it here. Hopefully he will be our key man that takes us through the leagues  :)

We have a good record of sponsoring players who then leave the same season (Greer & Paynter), so I fully expect Ritchie to be gone in January.

Great result, nice to beat that fat crook after last season. Didn't go but it seems it was a good performance, let's hope this continues into Burton on Saturday.
