I'll offer you some support. He was definitely shit for us.
And I correct in remembering he only played the one game for us?

Think that's correct...he came in on loan when Brez, got injured, Wise had done a runner, and Adi Williams took over as caretaker. Williams clearly didn't fancy Phil Smith much, so got in Lonergan....his performance v Hereford wasn't great, but neither was it terrible...think Andy Willams was the chief beneficiary for them. Still, in the same way as many can judge a player like Oliver Risser as shit after 5 mins and get on his back....many of our fans can judge a keeper as shit on one loan appearence, during an unsettled period for the club.

He was a shit loan, which can on rare occasions be different from being a shit player.

Indeed, another example of that is Tony Warner who joined us from Liverpool back in 97 and was attrocious for us but has since gone on to make a good career in football with many clubs such as Millwall, Cardiff and Fulham and is now on trial at Carlisle and also has been capped by Trinidad. He was utterly dreadful for us on loan though in the 2 games he played.

Tom Heaton could also be added to that, i seem to remember one howler down the town end when the ball bounced over him as he came rushing out the area.

Tony Warner played twice for Swindon. One clean sheet (which I recalls as being a decent enough display) and one where he didn't have a good day at Stockport.
I think 'atrocious' is harsh as he was probably only in as cover.

You don't remember the home game that well then?
He was flapping at everything that day and didn't even catch the ball once. If you go to the swindon-town-fc.co.uk and watch the video of the game there are a few missed punches on there that show you how bad he was but trust me he was awful. He was even worse in the away game when he let in 4 soft goals and didn't make contact with the ball only to pick it out of the net, probably along with Alistair Sperring the worst keeper I have ever seen in a Swindon shirt.
About 3 minutes 40 seconds in, and that was basically the only time he got anywhere near the ball...yet still missed it.
Muckmarn signed him with a view to a permanant deal as he was unwanted at Liverpool.

It was his first ever professional game. Leave him alone I watched that, thinking, I'm sure we won this game 1-0....but expecting Warner to have made some horrible rick for an equaliser. A pleasant surprise that we did win 1-0 Classic stuff in there, who could forget Lord Lucan's 60 yard hoof to Steve Cowe...the somewhat muted booing of Wanker John, and the slightly better grade of football being played than some of the shit we've watched in recent years.

Warner was proper pony. Plus he can do one on the basis that he was making throat slitting gestures to town fans on the last day of the season in 2011. Proper class that!

So "gun" is good and "pony" is bad right?
Remember most people saying Warner was a shit David James after that home performance. And this was when David James was a shit David James, before he somehow convinced everyone he was England material.

There, that's more realistic.
