No Howard, fat lump, though he was great, him and Igoe both thought they should play centrally when we needed wingers.  A tart i'm afraid.

David Stroud  Yes

Howard was good untill he knew his place in the team was a given, after that he stopped trying

I'd have him back no trouble. Beggars can't be choosers and god only knows we could use his goals and set piece deliveries.

Let's not forget, he didn't choose City out of spite. It was a simple career move which offered him a better chance of fulfilling his potential than AK was offering him. Quite funny how it has turned out for him really! Not that much better was it Smithy?

By bench-warming?

Eh?

The point is Dave, when he left us he was a freescoring midfielder who was obviously hoping to pick-up in a City shirt where he left off in Town colours. It's obviously gone pear-shaped.

I think most Town fans appreciate King only kept him in the side because Smith's performances meant he had no choice but to keep playing him. There was blatantly a subtext going on there.

I have to agree with Dave here. Yes I mean come on, he hasn't been played regularly at any other club, you have to ask why.

Because he's actually a bit rubbish and in all likelihood a bit of a cockend?

Blimey - I didn't think anyone was that supple - apart from Banbury Red.

Oh!  Sorry, BR had his head so far up King's arse that he needed a miners helmet

Interestingly Plymouth fans couldn't believe we got him as they loved the bloke following a loan spell there.

If King had an issue with Smithy and held him back as a result, you can't blame the lad for wanting to make King's life hard can you?

Agreed his treatment meant he annoyed a hell of a lot of our fans but if my hunch is right, I fully understand his position.

If I had a choice I'd prefer not to bring him back in. However, given our position, beggars can't be choosers and realistically he'd bring a good few goals with him to-boot. All the controversy would soon be forgotten.

Would have him back, we are in no position to be picky.

He'd never be my mate tho.

I wouldn't complain, but to leave a club the way he left us was ridiculous.
He would never be thought of like he was before, whether he re-found his form or not
