On what basis would you keep players you've never seen play over Douglas who pretty much controlled our team last year and has been very good this year. Although Flint does have better hair...

My reasoning would be that Caddis and Ritchie tried hard, Ferry could have a team built around him and the rest have done nothing wrong and should be given a chance.

This is assuming we get relegated. Assuming we could buy a whole bunch of new players.

I've had it with Douglas and I don't think much of his performance this year. Mooch about the back four, recieve pass, pay nothing pass back, turn, do nothing, pass 30 yards with the outside of his foot to someone who is never going to be able to control it, try to head the ball by jumping five minutes too early etc. etc. He may be one of most important players this season, but what good is being king of a shit heap?

He must be on too high a wage to justify keeping him in div 2 when he's captain of a failed team. Sell him, get some money for him, buy three new players. We tried the build a quality team and it didn't work. I've picked 8 reserves to see if they sink or swim.

Although, I like the idea of a Flint/Evans centre back pairing. Combined height of about 13 foot.

I think we need to try and keep a core group of 5 or so first teamers for stability alone. People like Prutton will walk and they'll find clubs too.

Now it's AM and a little more with it. Although I would still keep him (if he wants to stay) I think it's Prutton and the position that Hart plays him in that makes him look worse than he is.

Prutton's been woeful all season and, for me, was one of our worst performers yesterday. The ball passes him by in the midfield most of the time, when he does get it he doesn't make use of it and when he looks 'Committed' when we've lost possesion he's a booking waiting to happen.

I found it unfathomable yesterday that N'Diaye was on the right hand side and Prutton in the middle. What was that about?

The only ones I'd keep from yesterday would be Ritchie, Caddis, Benyon and LJF. The rest of them can fuck off.

He's been wank for most of the season and shouldnt even be getting games.

He's been up staged by Timlin this season.

Let be honest, criticising individual parts of our team is doing the whole thing a service it doesn't deserve.

Prutton has been a big problem for us this season. I actually think he's a half decent player. Its just that for whatever reason he adds absolutely nothing to our midfield as a unit.

Ferry on the other hand was outstanding last season. But we fucked him about and left him on the bench for the first few months.  He needed to be out on the pitch week in week out to get a run. Now its pointless playing him, rusty and unmotivated.

I can see what I think Wilson was trying. We were reliant on Austin and Paynter for goals, if they were injured and/or marked out the game we were in trouble - obviously Paynter left. Unfortunately he didn't succeed in spreading the goals around the team. Then we lost our other striker  pissed off and  our uttter utter ineptitude in replacing him (and Paynter) has relegated us..

Heard he was ranting in the office a few months ago. Might have just been blowing off some steam, seems a grumpy fucker at the best of times but still...

He wasn't at the kit photoshoot the other day so I reckon he's off whatever happens.

The players dont have to live in Swindon. Cirencester, Marlborough, Hungerford etc are all only 20 minutes drive away.

But those Towns dont have Football League clubs for a reason.

While it would be nice to get rid of a least 75% of the squad in the summer it won't be possible, practical or maybe even sensible to do this.

I'd expect half of the squad to stay put.

I feel left out. Although I can fully understand why he'd tell all of you how much he doesnt like it here.

I would add to my keep list Timlin, LJF and Sheehan, only as part of my desire to play 5-3-2 wing backs (because we haven't had two good wingers at the same time in years). And I think they are good players with random runs of form. No idea on what kind of money they're on.

Christ, if I had a pound for every time I've had a bit of a rant at work recently I'd have, ooh about 12 quid. Doesn't mean I was planning on leaving or that I don't like working there. Just shit happens sometimes, in any job. I think some people (who perhaps have limited experience of the world of work themselves) are taking a bit of sounding off waaaayy too seriously. We have a few players that show that they want to play for the club on a saturday afternoon and they are the only ones that we should be looking to hold onto.  Dougie isn't one of those this season so let him go, whether he hates/loves the place, thinks it's a tinpot club or didn't like the way his chips were cooked, I only give a shit about what he does on the pitch, and this year he has done pretty much fuck all to warrant us wanting to keep hold of him.

Last season I thought he was Championship class, this season he has been conference class, if he don't wanna be here he don't wanna be here so fuck him off out of the door with our thanks for one decent season.

Normally I'd be one to sneer at such unfounded rumours

Err because he a pretty decent League 1 player and therefore would be one hell of player in League 2.

Scored 13/14 for the Daggers in League 2 a few years ago.

Haha. Fair point about the positioning - with those type of things you can never be too sure how much of it is the player and how much is the manager. I stand by the point him having the strength of a wet fart though. decent with the ball at his feet, and can at least chip in with a couple of goals, but I don't see the hype that everyone else see's. Definatley not worth the £250k or whatever it was we paid

I think he's got quality but I agree he is lightweight. I would rather have signed Noone than Ritchie for the money we paid but I'm not complaining.

He's a bit lightweight. But he also enjoys allowing his feet to vanish from underneath him when he doesn't have to.

I appreciate no one is particular happy with the ways things have panned out this season but surely Ritchie is one of the few players to have shown any class what so ever. Considering he is a bit lightweight he has done well to stand out.. I reckon the player of the season - if any one can be arsed to make that particular award this season. :hmmm:

Yeah, in what has been a total cunting trainwreck of a season, only a couple of players can come out of it with any credit and that's Ritchie and Caddis.

Yeah, true. He's always looked a half decent player, I reckon him and also Amankwaah could take the piss a bit in League Two.

Ritchie is our most hungry player and has been our best performer this season (not that it's been difficult to achieve that). I like his attitude, he can score goals from the wide positions. I think he can improve his game in terms of quality of delivery into the box and also staying on his feet. I'd be happy if he was here next season.

Caddis is another one that i'd like to stay. He's been up for it on most occasions. Took him a while to settle but since then he's been on the whole decent enough. LJF I wouldn't mind seeing back. Had a stinker on Saturday but in general he hasn't done badly when called upon.

As for the rest....well not really fussed if they go. As much as I think there are good players in JP, Cuthbert, Douglas and Ferry they just don't seem interested and have under-performed this season by a long way.
