I wouldn't take Wes Brown in a million years, as he's shite.

Given the lack of quality alternatives I'd take King. Yes he's a cripple but for me he's the only centre back we have who would actually be capable of challenging Ferdinand and Terry for a 1st team place if he's fit.  We'll have plenty of cover in the squad if he breaks as it looks like there will be another specialist centre back and the cover at right back can play there as well (carragher, Brown Jagelik) a

As Capello has said, Ledley King managed to play 4 games in 15 days near the end of the season.

There isn't a more on form english centre back right now than Ledley King. He has to go.

I'd say the 4 CBs and the 2 LBs pick themselves. Dunno about right backs mind you...

Easily the worst defensive choices since whenever it was you dribbled on about, right?

King has to go - as has been said, he is on form and realistically is there as cover in case of injury or suspension of Rio or Terry, in which case its 1 or maybe 2 games max.

Can see the logic of taking Carragher as he can cover any of the back 4 positions, so it frees up another slot further forward. Having said that, how will Upson feel if he is left out after playing in the shitty eastern european away games to get us there cos Carragher couldn't be arsed to ?

I'd play King from the start... much better than the likes of Ferdinand. Obviously, fitness permitting.

At the moment, King is probably the best of the lot. Definitely start him but then again might be better to wait till we play quality opposition to use him.

I'd be annoyed if I'd played a large majority of the qualifiers then missed out on a place in the finals because someone (who isn't even that good and hasn't had a good season at all) decided to come out of international retirement.

...and when has Jamie Carragher been anything other than wank at fullback?

Yes, but wank is not neccesarily worse than Wes Brown, is it?
