mushrooms are the devil's spawn. Closely followed by Aubergine.

Bollocks, mushrooms are brilliant, however I am prepared to concur that Aubergines are slimy pointless nonsense!

Aubergines are excellent when cooked well, but dreadful when not and pretty hard to cook well. Biggest range of outcomes of any vegetable.

Courgettes are fine, useful for chucking in sauces to sneak veg into a meal as they taste of very little. But replacing spaghetti with them is a terrible idea.

Aubergines and courgettes are lovely.

Moussaka and Thai green curry wouldn't be the same.

I like a sliced courgette in my Mediterranean veg

Mousakka yes, as aubergine is definitely a staple of that dish. But I've rarely had a Thai green curry with either aubergine or courgette in. I think when I went to Thailand possibly they serve it with a Thai aubergine which is slightly different IIRC correctly.

Woaaahhh, not letting this pass. Courgettes are fucking great and I'm more than prepared to fight you about this*

* I'm really not

You'd like my father-in-law-to-be, he puts the shites in his lasagnes, got offended when I didn't like them, then didn't understand why the following time he made it I still didn't eat the one corner of lasagne he'd left courgette-less, but it still tasted of the godawful things...

I didn't like mushrooms as a kid, the rubbery texture put me right off, growing to like them more as a grown up... since going veggie, pretty much mushrooms in every bastard thing ever so you kinda have to.

I did used to put them in pretty much every pasta or chilli I cooked but now I'm more sparing and just use them when appropriate. Horgettes for courgettes as it were

This is my missus' favourite meal

https://www.carluccios.com/recipes/penne-giardiniera/

I made the grave mistake of cooking it for her one Saturday about five or six years ago. She's insisted on having it every fucking Saturday ever since. Now my lad's girlfriend is also hooked on it. I mean it's really nice but the way they go on it's like the crack cocaine of pasta recipes.

I know I'll have mentioned this before, but the amount of twats who drive between Mannington and Blagrove (in both directions) using just the overtaking lane. Fucking get in the inside lane until you need to overtake or get in lane approaching the roundabout. That's a couple of hundred yards, not a fucking mile and a half!!  Banging

I don't dislike mushrooms, but at the same time, i won't actively choose to eat them. I used to love them but during my vegetarian phase i think i ate too many.

Aubergine on the other hand can get in the sea.
