According to the adver today!! Apparently Stuart Pearce has met with Danny Wilson to explain what he plans on doing.... if we don't go uop I hope Austin stays atleast next season but will be tough to keep ahold of him even with his contract extension.

It would be a nice little bit of news for Charlie Austin and Swindon Town if this was to happen.

Looking at the last couple of U-21 squads I'd say that Pearce is keen to select players who are playing and scoring most weeks... Many of the Premier League youngsters fail to get minutes. Only Andrew Carroll really gets suitable game time for earning Under-21 caps.

Exactly, even the Advertiser used the disclaimer of 'if-he-doesn't-get-into-this-squad-then-he-might-get-into-the-next-one'.

It's a midweek fixture isn't it? Because Bristol Rovers is coming up.

Think Pearce looks at Austin as a man treading in his own footsteps? Non League right to the top?

Pearce was one of those players that made you feel proud to be English and hopefully Austin can be too.

I was wondering who was the last outfield player who actually played for us, not on loan, that played for the England U21 team, my memory fails me sometimes and I was curious.

I know it wasnt Paul Rideout as he didnt get capped at U21 level with us only Schoolboy and Youth as his U21 caps came while at Aston Villa.
