Does anyone know what it's called? And is it ok to meet up with someone who doesn't know the other pubs, or is it a bit iffy?

Should clarify the Train station.

Swindon Train Station?

It's alright. There are better pubs, but for closeness to the stationness, the GW is all good.

Cheers for that, my next step was to check out on beer in the evening that's a good site. My favourite review is of a pub near me, just says if you are lost coming out of the train station, just follow the smell of piss, you'll soon find it!

It's a bit pricey in there, but they do Lowenbrau on draught, which is nice.

Queens Taps alright now isn't it?  Had a bit of a make over, pool table in there too, far less up it's own behind in comparison to the GW.

You might well be. I don't think they've got a problem if it's a quiet afternoon though.

Yeah think it depends on how busy it is, but generally they don't like to have football shirts in there.

Queens Tap is good. There's a weird old chap behind the bar though.

Last time I was in there he was acting as a sound man for the band that was playing, except they didn't seem too keen on his nob twiddling.

Also, it has a beer garden of sorts.

I normally go in the queens, but I'm meeting up with someone at the station so that seems easiest, thanks for all the info.

The tap is quite nice now, been done up. The 'weird' chap behind the bar used to run a pub outside Fratton Park so he's ok with football supporters plus the beers cheaper than the GW

Be careful not to get the two mixed up.

Easily done.

If he was  twiddling his knob he probably wsn't actually doing the sound man's job, just wanking!
