If we were prepared to pay 200k for constable and assuming there is no transfer fee for Benjani a 200k signing on fee might help sway him

Pretty sure he doesn't need the money! He was training with Stockport County before he signed for Pompey, as he is friends with Didi Hamann. Wonder if he has a friendship with Paolo?

At 33, he may see his future in the bottom 2 divisions. We'll see!

Gary Rose seems to think its pretty much a done deal for Boateng.

Benjani? Wish we'd stop pussy footing around and sign Fernando Torres who clearly is the target and all the others are smokescreens!

Benjani would be a loan signing not a permanent one. Also delighted about Boateng.

You say that as if you know something? I can see the point though - nothing to gain (except football) for Benjani by taking a huge wage drop. A loan sees him play football, and us cut a chunk out of his wage for Pompey. Still can't see it happening.

You would have thought so mate, but we do have Paolo in charge so I wouldnt rule pretty much anything out.

Unlikely but he would IMO be truly awesome a class above any other striker (on his day) outside the Championship....except maybe Rhodes at udders.
