I'd like to point out also that when he played in this country, i don't remember him courting controversy with his political allegiences... it only really came up when playing for his boyhood team back in Italy. I don't think it'd cause any problem back here as a manager

The thing is Paul, the number of people who wouldn't like Di Canio because of his political persuasions will be far outweighed by the number of people who either haven't got a clue about his fascist background or don't give a shit.
That's absolutely true. I still wouldn't want to see him associated with our club. It would make me ashamed of a club I'm still (despite how shit we've been this season) proud of.

Gary Glitter only committed child sex offences when in the Far East. Let's appoint him as manager

Not true actually Paul. He was also found with kiddie porn on his computer in the UK.

It's not the same though is it Paul, Di Canio hasn't actually done anything apart from lift an arm up. No harm done to anyone.

The point was not so much comparing the "offences", more that just because he did it abroad doesn't make it any better. But BR leapt in to defend the reputation of Far East ex-pats by pointing out he was at it in the UK too. For the record, I think Glitter would be a shit manager anyway, if we're going 70s popsters, has to be Sheena

I'm not sure that's even possible.

Hmm.  Sheena didnt chart until 1980.  Sorry to be a pedant but you would be.

Northampton 12/1? Didn't they just avoid relegation by the skin of their teeth?

Yeah rather low odds but then I feel thats based upon GJ's record in the lower divisions.
