Darius Henderson scored 4 in his first 3 games too.

Bill Stephens in the 46-47 season didn't score in his first game but then proceeded to score 11 in the next 5 games.

Sam Parkin got 4 in his first 2 games but then didn't score for another 7 games.

Morris Jones scored in his first 3 matches.

So none of them scored in their first 4 games. Hope we're not putting the mockers on JY here

Nope not that I can see anyway. He could well be onto a record there already.

Oh I agree about that but the performance itself was still pretty good, I was getting more at the "bad day at the office" style performances where nothing goes right for the team.

We will have those days.

Didn’t a certain Charlie Austin score in his first four, five or six games? Not sure when or if a drought started though.

No mate he didn't score until his 4th match, thats his 3rd league appearance. All were substitute appearances though.

If you only count league games, when he was a starter he still only scored 4 in his first 3 games, then didnt score the 4th game.

I could have sworn he scored in his debut at Carlisle though.

He did. He came on at norwich for 20 mins for debut. Full debut was at Carlisle and he scored the winner on 3 minutes

La participation augmentera avec le retour de Matty Baudry. Je ne savais pas qu'il était lŕ. Je l'aime beaucoup.

Didn't obika score in his first 5 games or something?
Or does that not count as he was in loan previously?

Obika did score in his first 4 games (5 goals) but that was on his 2nd spell with the club and only 3 were league games.

Certainly back in the cricket WC thread when I thought England lacked the bottle to win it.

However I did also say that I thought the poor long game batting would mean the Ashes were beyond us.

So not then either!

"I was wrong but...." is not "I was wrong".

Clearly in a post where I said we lacked the bottle to win WC and that the Ashes would be beyond us, I'm not going to say I was wrong on the Ashes.

It would be for the best if you'd engaged in debate rather than just dismissing  my thinking our batting wouldn't be up to strength as "absurd"

You should know by now that Reg is never wrong because he always puts provisos. It's always along the lines of History tells us to expect a defeat, but with a bit of luck and taking into consideration the opposition's current form, we could sneak a win and then again, given our lack of/despite our lack of experienced RB/LB/attacking options/ we might just snatch a draw .....Bingo! He's right every time. If you challenge him on something he'll invariably come back with something like "yes, but I did also say.....".
