Are men so fucking horrible?

Yes I am over weight but it was caused by a medical condition and I am trying hard to lose weight.  Why do groups of men feel the need to shout oi fatty at me as they drive past in a car?

Why do groups of men stood about outside work feel the need to shout fatty, where has your fit mate gone? When I am clearly on the phone?

Why do groups of men think it's funny to say to their overweight, bald pal, look mate there's a fatty for you extra loud so I can hear?

I was talking to my friend earlier and she was telling me about an incident on the tube last night as she was going home from uni. She got called a 'middle-class whoare' and several other things just because she happened to be carrying a few books.

In all seriousnous though, I think people were just pointing out that if people are nasty to each other it doesn't matter who they are, the outcome can end up being the same.

Take the example of two women I used to live with. Their constant abuse led to my other mate moving out and deciding to drop out of uni. He was older, could definitely have banter with the bloke and he seemed stronger than he obviously let on. Eventually it took its toll and he cracked.

Like many have said, people can be horrible, mainly to conver up their own feeling of inadequacy.

They make other people look small so they can look big. They have very little self esteem and need to gob off with safety in packs. They're ugly inside - you're obviuosly not.

I think that the vast majority of people tend to laugh at, or at least comment others, for whatever reason it maybe. It's just part of human nature as we are nasty animals at times.

However I am not defending them whatsoever Birdy as Human nature or not, to knowingly and intentionally hurt another persons feelings is unacceptable and the cunts deserve a beating for doing so.

There's not much you can do unfortunately as these people are ignorant cunts and getting visibly upset is only likely to encourage them, although something along the lines of what dellboy said could be effective, whilst remembering that yes, you can lose weight.

Birdy, I've had a complex about my weight all my life and I still do. I used to get called 'The Barrel' at school and I used to make myself sick to avoid swimming lessons.

This is probally why I am so obsessed with keeping fit now.

Anyway, I learnt that the people who took the piss out of me were the ones with issues themselves.

Sometime after that I started drinking at the Old Bell in Old town, whilst the Hells Angels where there, during which time I learned how to both behave myself yet stick up for myself properly at the same time.

I can think of one guy that I want to hit, and if I was to explain why then most would agree with me but that is quite an extreme case.

but ye birdy i feel for you, those who know me/have met me can guess i went through the same thing are school, and still sometimes now, i'd just arrived in new york got out of the cab just about 100ft from my hotel and the first thing i get shouted at is "macdonalds is that way" i just laugh things like that off, dont let it get to you birdy, i know its easier to say than do.

The only advice that I could give Birdy is to try to think about what you DO have. I.E.: Friends and family who appreciate and love you for who you are.

I went through a bit of a down patch not so long ago and am still picking up the pieces, and trying to think of the positives helped sooooo much.

I did Tae-Kwon-Do for a couple of years Birdy, and in the beginners classes their where more than a few overweight/unfit people.

To start with it is more gentle exercise and technique than actual fighting, obviously getting more intense as you earn your belts but you can do that at your own pace.

It worked well for many because it actually became hobby for them, and they where with other people on similar physical condition to themselves and therefore they didn't feel out of place.

Give it whirl and try to get a friend to go along with you for moral support. Not only do you get to be fit but you also learn how to punch and kick VERY hard if needed  :wink:
