'I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die'

The Hitcher absolutely scared the pants off me the first time I saw it and it remains one of the scariest films I've ever seen, purely due to Hauer's acting, far scarier than any of the gore-filled splatterfests.

Seen Dodgebal and remember the old pirate-like coach ("dodge, duck, dip, dive and.... dodge") who threw wrenches at them? That was him.

He also delivered the best line in the film. 'You're about as useful as a cock-flavoured lollipop.'One of the greatest films ever made.
