Jason manford's cheap gag was that he loved the south apart from Swindon, which was a shithole.

Seems Swindon is picked on a lot!

Saw Biffy on Monday night in a tiny (relative to their usual) venue in Guildford on a corporate sell out gig. Great fun, as it was basically only promoted through social media it was full of young people that actually liked them and knew all the words to everything. The most fun I've had at a gig in ages.

Saw Snarky Puppy last night. A brilliant performance of jazz-funk. We only found out they were here on Thursday, by which time the concert was sold out, but we managed to get tickets on the door. Chatted with the band very briefly at the DVD buying/autographing  Cool  Cheesy   Check them out on YouTube. They're appearing at The Village Underground in London on 17th November.

Ho-leee shit. What a gig. Fucking Bristol though... That was one of the worst crowds I've ever been in- I've gone to wakes with more atmosphere. It was filled with drunk old blokes disinterested in the actual music and just trying to mosh (appallingly I might add), parents and their teenage kids (so neither wanting to let their hair down too much), and nearly the whole front two/three rows were filled with people who were apparently stood in solemn meditation instead of being out to enjoy themselves.

British Sea Power were a bit 'eh', but I've seen them before so used my time to wisely stock up with drinks at the bar.  Pint Watch out for the bear.

Editors... Wow. They're one of my favourite bands, and having never been able to see them (I've been out of country/poor/ill etc.) tonight was a near-religious experience for me. Helped that I found myself front row. They really are a fantastic band live, Tom Smith is just enthralling as a frontman. Soon as I got home I checked to see if the London gig was sold out yet. It is Sad

Enjoy the gig Bob's Orange, I fooking wish I could go again this tour...

Thanks for the review Honky.

I saw editors in Lux before they went all synthy, and they were bloody good then.

Do they play much of the older stuff?

Setlist from last night was:
Sugar
Someone Says
Smokers outside the Hospital Doors
Bones
Eat Raw Meant=Blood Drool
Two hearted Spider
You Don't know Love
All Sparks
Formaldehyde
A Ton of Love
An end has a start
Bullets
In this Light and on this evening
Munich
Racing Rats
Honesty

Encore was Bricks and Mortar, Nothing (full band version), and a long version of Papillion. So it's a fair old mix.

Fall gigs fascinate me but when I look on YouTube it just sounds like a reasonable sound fronted by someone who has no ability to sing.

I'm near Clapham so always thought of going to see what's what with them

Yeah go BO, structured anarchy, he's a grade A loon. And you're right, a lot of it is a tuneless cacophony, but the good ones are very good.
