Used to be a really big fan of Costello, but his stuff over the years has been really hit or miss. North was the last thing I bought and Momufuku the last thing I heard. Does he have something new out and is it any good?

Likewise, North was last album I got.  There were a few songs that were new to me, which i liked, but was mostly the older stuff from the 70's and 80's. He has such a rich back catalogue that's there's plenty of material to choose from and it still sounds good.

Ive just checked out the line up and for this young hipster (42) the line up seems to be one from 1983.

However, you should always catch Echo and the bunnymen if you have the chance and on a more folky tip bellowhead are a great fun night out.  Squeeze are always entertaining as well.

Seriously the only 'new' artists are talent show fodder in the shape of James Arthur and Marlbourough own (well, more like owns most of Marlborough) Bo Bruce and I wouldnt recommend seeing either of them.

Saw Muse at the Etihad a few weeks back - great show. Arctic Monkeys tickets on sale on Friday, might try and get to their gig in Liverpool.

Not as many bands as I'd like come through Singapore though I did see both the Stone Roses and New Order here over the last year or so. Also went to see Blur in Jakarta.

After re-reading that I should probably drag myself out of the early 90s at some stage.

Saw Stereophonics last night. A mix of new and old songs. 2 band members came into the pub afterwards, they are a miniscule band!

Don't. Ever. Unless you're dragging yourself backwards into the 70's or 80's. Modern music is, on the whole, fucking horrendous. Arctic Monkeys & Jake Bugg are pretty much the only good things about at the moment, as far as 'Main Stream' goes. And I'm seeing them both within 2 or 3 days of eachother at the end of October. Lovely stuff.
