The reasons I like Pete Doherty
1-He makes good pop music 2-He takes shit loads of drugs 3-He shags supermodels
What do you want from your Rock stars these days ? hmmm i suppose he is the most "old fasioned" classic rockstar about at the moment. didnt kate moss dump him?

Libertines are class Razorlight are overated Franz Ferdinand are the most overated band going (apart from Keane!) The Zutons rule! I could go on for ever.
Pete Doherty is a legend. After being in crappy desk jobs doing customer services, being shouted at 5 days a week and having such a mundane existence since the age of 16, a life of hard drugs, brawling and a string of girls that idolise you sounds pretty good to me!

Agreed that Razorlight are over-rated as are FF. Don't like the Zutons or the Libertines either (just preference in music that's all).
But is anybody bored with this Pete Doherty shite in the media all of the time? I'm as bored with it as Posh & Becks really!

I think Pete Doherty is a fantastic lyricist/poet, but this bollocks in the paper just pisses me off. I think that's why people start to resent the music.

One slight problem there Yeovil, Pete Doherty doesn't write good music. It's all shite.
Nice one on Kate Moss, though...

Not that I'd go far out of my way but I'd go and see both the Libertines and the blank faced squib play live as that's where a lot of people claim they are at their best.
Downloaded the Libertines album and it's pretty average stuff really. Couple of decent tracks but nothing exceptional, herd a lot worse but herd an awful lot btter.
I think the whole lyrics thinks is a bit much chaps. it's certainly better than a Mallet number but again nothing exceptional.
Can't say really blank face himself is a much of a decent rock and roll man either. I have met a few smack heads who are much more entertaining and have in all likelihood probably shafted Moss up the starfish as well.
All down to taste at the end of the day.
