I don't think Flash was trolling either.  Jimmy's death was a tragedy, right enough.  But the principal difference between his tragedy and Luke McCormick's is that he killed himself rather than a couple of kids.  There are more similarities than some people would like to admit.

To me it seems a bit strange to do this 10 years after the event. But maybe that's just me.

I agree. I know many loved him, and I feel insensitive in saying this, but applauding, 10 years after the event, feels strange to me.

There are more similarities than some people would like to admit.

The only difference was the type of vehicle they hit. That resulted in different outcomes which, rightly or wrongly, one guy ended up being classed as a scumbag and the other a hero.

If people have asked to remember him in a certain way and the club are receptive to it then I don't see the harm.

Questioning whether we should remember someone because they might have 'done a Luke McCormick' seems an odd one for me. Better be thankful he didn't and remember the positives about the guy.

He was fantastic during his spell here I know that much.

RIP Jimmy
