Now look at the pic in the background? Is this our new Away shirt for 2010/11 season black with Samsung on it instead of FIFA10 which will be out of date? It clearly has a STFC Badge on it

If so that black kit looks well nice! We would have some cracking sponsors aswell, which is a good sign that the club is being run in the right way.

Could be, however we seem to be a bit behind in terms of adidas templates. This template is Liverpool's shirt for this season I think though albeit black? s entirely possible

Liverpool's shirt is a V-neck. And it's definately not the same template! However our blue shirt for this year is the same as their black away shirt - Just a different colour.

Who are these people and what have they done with the shambolic half arsed club that I love. I don't know whether I can cope with us being competent, and possibly even successful. It doesn't feel right.

It may be that kits, style and pretty much everything has moved on in the seventeen years since 93/94, not just us.  Just a thought.

Cracking sponsorship deal by the club, they have some fantastic contacts and top notch selling skills. As much as I'm loving the new shirt, I do wish the badge was not iron on. It kinda cheapens it for me.

Who provided the TV's in the concourse...are they Samsung also ?

I hope they get a newer design for the home and away shirt and drop the waves of contrast colours.  I don't like to have a design that was used by PL clubs some seasons ago.  The result can be that we get the same design that Chelsea has this year which looks like a shirt with a built-in bra.  On the other hand, it would look good if Melinda Messenger promoted it like in the mid 90s  :D

Regarding a third sponsor, it will be interesting to see if Samsung will put pressure on the club for using this.  The current 3rd shirt has only been used on a few occations.  I guess that both 442 and AE Sports are eager to be used as well.

It's quite interesting and I guess historic that a team will have three shirts with three different shirt sponsors in English Football!?

Just hope we won't see any norwegian tendances - where there are loads of commercial sponsors on the football shirts. They all look like crap because of that. Just have a look at a this one - looks like shit! (Although you might not agree on that one, Sonic Youth! :D)

you can't make out the players names very well, the two sponsors are larger.

i liked the fact we were one of the few teams with only one shirt sponsor until recently, it's a sad sight now. at least we have well known sponsors and not dodgy local building companies now

As this thread has been revised can I just voice how impressed I am by the fucking genius marketing masterstroke that was attracting 442 as oujr main shirt sponsor.

I assume IPC (or whoever the publisher is) got a decent price, as the coverage in the magazine has been worth a bloody fortune to us in attracting other sponsors, the shirt deal etc.

It's not like the rest of the media are all over us, so I can't imagine the likes of samsung would be knocking on the door if we weren't plastered all over the biggest football monthly virtually every issue. If it was some clever bugger on the board that dreamed up the idea and sold it to 442 then good bloody work. Long may it continue!

IIRC, FourFourTwo don't actually pay us a lot in sponsorship. The main attraction of the deal was the publicity. As you say, it was a great move!
