I wish just for the once the club would put out an honest statement with regards to a manager leaving.

‘Richie Wellens was a lying, hypocrite. We don’t care how he gets on at his new club.

STFC moves on’

This is hilarious: https://salfordcityfc.co.uk/richie-wellens-named-manager-03112021/

Joined them as he wants to win every week...

Love the bit about he'll provide a pathway for young players into the 1st team, he's shown absolutely no interest in our young players preferring to brings in young loan players instead.

the wanting to win every week said it all for me and pre-season I thought it would be very interesting to see how a manager desperate to get to the top would take a boring midtable season whilst the club tries to settle into league 1 life.

in his ambitions I'm sure he would want to be challenging this season but with covid, players available and reduced budget he very quickly realised that his profile would take hit.

Salford is obviously a short term step for him as a club with 2000 attendances will never ever ever make it up the leagues. get some press coverage, get them up this year. maybe give it a little go in league 1 then he will be off again

I don't fault his ambitions I fault his bullshit and his failure to admit he couldn't get this team performing and jumped

He's left a bitter taste in supporters mouths by not thanking the fans or explaining his reasons

That's a strange comment about joining a team who win, week in week out  Huh? It's like getting into a boat with an oar, when the boat has an outboard motor.  Smiley

Same here although he's let himself down the way he conducted himself

Wellens currently threw his toys out of the pram. He wanted to sign 4 players on deadline day but the club said no. Swindon are paying £300,000 a month in players salaries with no income coming in. No business can sustain that and the club is no exception. The main thing at the moment is for the club to survive so getting some compensation for Wellens might help out.

What Wellens has soon forgotten was Power gave him an opportunity and look how he has repaid him when the tough get's going.

Let's move on and support the new man however he may be.
