Just made a late post on Lets Get Political and missed out on this bombshell.

They'd have been welcome to him at season end, whatever the outcome for us.  Timing is shocking though.  We never had enough to get over the line when PDC went at this stage of the season.

Not sure how easy it is to transfer from being a player to a manager at the same club.  Depends on the individual I guess but I like the idea of Taylor.  Anyone know him?

For those who remember Lowndes Lambert, think along the same lines ownership and managerial wise, and then you'll get the gist of what's happening (ish).

So Comrades, having become a rouble millionaire and having convinced Gazprom that the Swindon Mighty Reds are worthy of their sponsorship, I can now tell you that Lev Yashin has been resurrected by a secret process and will be installed as player/manager as soon as he can get a visa and a work permit.

Personally I can't remember the last time we lost a manager to another club and the feeling was...o...ok,  should be alight.

We are used to managers leaving when we are doing well, and whilst we kind of are, I think everyone has had their issues with line-ups, fallout's and tactics.

The signings we have made under flitcroft have been pretty decent, those in january even more so. Is that flitcroft or power though.

He made his mistakes this season, dropping taylor and being a fairly big one, but no doubt about it we are in the promotion mix so it is perfect for a new face to come in and hopefully push us up the table further. Bring it on
Yep I agree on all that.

Off topic from Swindon, but surely Wenger has to either resign or get the boot?

Surely an offer from Swindon would entice him away ?.

Apologies if it was already posted but he says "energy" about 40 times. Then piles in a load of unnecessary superlatives, bungs in a few "KPI indicators" ?!?!, half a dozen to a dozen "warmth" and the only thing missing was a microwave. He just sounds fucking clueless. Was his announcement presser with us equally as bullshitting as this one? It's repetition of the same bollocks and all it says to me is "complete charlatan".

I stated he couldn't take us any further and I'm happy he's gone. Yes he brought hard work into a squad that wouldn't know what it was if you plated it up for them. However that has been at detriment to any other qualities he clearly does not have. I fear for where Mansfield may be in three years time. Spent a lot of money at this level and will now be pissing all that effort down the drain with DF in charge. Feel sorry for the Radfords because they're a fairly decent board.  Oh hello Stags lurkers  Pint Soapy Tit Wank

A key point here is that we can add “KPI Indicators” to a growing collection of redundant acronyms, joining “ATM Machine”, “LCD Display”, and “PIN Number”. No real surprise that it was Flitcroft supplementing the list.

Did Flitcroft ever say 'synergy' with us in the end? We were told to expect the word, 'synergy', a lot.
