Nordwand or North Face. It's a german language account of the famed 1936 ascent on the Eiger, obviously by the north face and it's okay. As a true story and a very dramatic one at that, it doesn't need the romantic subplot that gradually gets more and more in the way. The rest is solid and the climbing sequences are good but go for Touching The Void first and read The White Spider instead.

Made me chuckle how he had to act like the guy in the games.

Watched Submarine last night, directed by Richard Ayoade - very good, a sort of coming of age type of thing.

I'll Sleep When I'm Dead. Watched it last night. Excellent, gritty, low budget London Gangster flick. Worth a punt. Also took in Electric Mist starring Tommy Lee Jones. Enjoyed that. Then turned off my brain and sat back to absorb The new Tron movie. Brainless but gorgeous to look at. (cue Page 3 puns...)
