Ben you should watch Bladerunner all the way thru. It's really good.

Has anyone seen Neds? I haven't yet but I want to.

Is that the film about Celtic fans? Just watch the Old firm game in 10 minutes, plenty of Neds inside Celtic Park today I'm sure!!

The Fighter - A good drama and a near perfect reenactment of the last round. Certainly didn't try to go to over the top either.

I watched the Banksy film, Exit Through The Gift Shop, last night.

It was very good, not really about Banksy (I think he edited it and appears in a few short, but revealing, interviews during the film). Instead it focuses on the slightly crazy but likeable French obsessive who had been filming every moment of his life since he picked up a video camera (the reason for this is explained, quite tragic and I won't spoil it), then accidentally stumbled upon the explosion of street art (he followed the space invader guy and then OBEY) and eventually got involved as a bit of a copycat artist himself.

I've had the film for ages but wasn't that into watching it, glad I did.

Watched 'Paul' last night, very good... even though I missed some references due to not being a sci-fi nerd.
Agreed, enjoyable !

Watched quite a few in the last fortnight, here are some...

Watched Going the Distance with Justin Long and Drew Barrymore which was standard but pretty tolerable stuff. They do their best to avoid the lovey-dovey and when it's not focusing on that it's good. A decent support cast which includes the always amusing Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis, who are both underused (Day especially).

Also didn't mind Easy A which was slated by somebody else earlier in this thread. The reviews were very favourable and I like Emma Stone who was standard support in Superbad but really good in Zombieland. I was expecting it to be much better but it was still okay despite my disappointment. A bit too teenie-bop for me.

...Burke & Hare was very poor. I'm a massive John Landis fan and this was supposed to be his big return and it was pretty dire. The story of Burke and Hare is really interesting and deserves a far darker film than the romantic comedy this turned out to be.

Also watched The Alibi starring Steve Coogan and Rebecca Romijn. I thought it was alright... Steve Coogan has been much better in other films but belongs on television for me. This is the second U.S. film he's made that didn't get cinema release in the UK that I've liked, the other being Hamlet 2. The Alibi is nothing more than so/so but it's better than a lot of the shite that makes its way into British cinemas.

...and finally, I thought The Town was really good. It looks like Ben Affleck has a good career ahead of him as a director. The Town has its flaws but it's really entertaining for what it is. It's not as good as Heat though.

I started watching a film where jude law is a soveit sniper in stalingrad, but fell asleep halfway through. It's supposed to be fairly decent, but a film where the russians and the germans have either cockney or yank accents is frankly ridicoulous.

In the last few days I have watched "Paul" which I thought was excellent and very funny, "Due Date" which was pretty crap and not worth watching even though it had 1 or 2 pretty funny moments and "The Kings Speech" which I think is vastly overrated and not my cup of beer.

Taken is on tonight, and also V for Vendetta.

I've seen the first half an hour of both of them. Taken looked like a silly action film, whereas V had some potential. Is V for Vendetta the better option?
