Band of brothers was good, but imo there were too many characters, if that makes sense. I kept getting confused who was who. Only seen the first few episodes of the pacific this morning, but it doesn't seem to be as bad in that respect.

Others i spoke too about it say similar to you though, so I await the rest of the series with interest

Got a "1001 movies you must see before you die" book for Christmas. It goes right back to 1902 and a lot of it is old stuff which I'm not really interested in (don't generally bother with black and White for example) but there are some films in there I will definitely check out.

Anyone seen Butcher Boy? Also, I've never seen Audition which is my mates favourite film. I will get round to seeing that sometime.

You should lift that black and white film rule. Loads of amazing films out there.

The original Seven Samurai film was in b/w - one of the best films of all time. How about the Laurel and Hardy classics. Lost Horizon etc etc. There are some excellent b/w films - to rule them out because they are b/w is denying yourslef.

you have nearly lost a whole genre in film noir, the Third Man, Double Indemnity,  Maltese Falcon, Touch of Evil and the Big Seep are all amazing films.

What he said.

You'll also never see a Laurel and Hardy film. That's tragic.

Second the point about film noir, you're really missing out on some brilliant films.

Hmm.  Casablanca, 12 Angry men, all the marx brothers films, manhattan, its a wonderful life, the maltese falcon, the list goes on and on.

I really dont think I'd be happy with no black and white films.
