Last night I watched Hancock.  It was just about watchable.  Just.

Watched Stranger Than Fiction and thoroughly enjoyed it.

A bit like something the brain of Charlie Kaufman would conjure up but instead of doing it himself he's given the idea to someone else who isn't quite as weird as him! Which isn't a bad thing. Will Ferrell is great in a non-whacky role.

Number 27 in a series of childrens films reviews.

Nanny Mcphee and the big bang.  Excellent.  Funny, touching and heart warming.  Kids loved it as well.  I had a small tear in my eyes twice.  I think because Im tired.  Not a soft as shite old git. Honest.

Just taken the kids to see Clash of the Titans 3D. Don't bother. Or if you really must, go to the 2D version. But definitely don't if you liked the original. Or Greek mythology. Or plots. Or acting.

EDIT: Should add though that the kids loved it.

I love that film.

I generally think comedy series on UK TV like Alan Partridge and the Office are a million times funnier than any american comedy film but there are a few exceptions. Swingers is one of them. Another would probably be Spinal Tap. There are very few decent comedy films for some reason.

Thanks for the tip. I love the original and was really looking forward to this til I saw the trailer the other day and it looked so crap and generic. I won't be bothering to watch this at the cinema anymore.

The trailers are Citizen Kane compared to the awful reality

It's annoying that companys keep tacking on 3D to their films. If they are gonna release 3D then they should take their lead from Avatar which showed how effectively it can be done and use 3D cameras. Adding 3D in post production is a quicker and cheaper way of doing it but crap in comparison. James Cameron was talking about this recently.

Well, Clash of the Titans 2010 is only a classic in the sense that it's a classic example of how awful post-production 3D is compared to a proper 2D film, never mind a proper 3D

I would recommend that James Cameron puts the 3-D camera down, pick up a pen instead and write a decent bloomin' script. I'm not thick - pretty pictures will not hide a shoddy story.

3-D doesn't interest me in the slightest.

I think everything is going too much towards 3D and those increased tickets prices. I don't want everything to be in 3D.

But I'm glad I saw Avatar in 3D. It added to the experience for me. I felt immersed in that world.

I take it you thought it was shit, yeah?

I accept it's importance within modern cinema and it's Box Office are second to none. I honestly didn't go in to the cinema wanting/expecting to dislike it. I did dislike it - I like a good story and it was sloppy, predictable et al.

Finally caught what best describes my sex life, There Will be Blood last night.

A triumph of acting over plot.  Not a bad film but it just pads along predictably without really going anywhere.

Very meh
