Watched Passchendaele earlier. A quite mediocre Canadian film with some decent WWI scenes (what a truly insane conflict that was).

It starred Paul Gross of Due South "fame"... Clearly the Canadian Fonz Smiley

Due South's moment of glory was when they replaced the actor who played his detective sidekick.

The replacement looked nothing like the other guy and the Mountie spent the whole episode going "you look different..."

That was once BBC1 Saturday post-Grandstand entertainment!

I watched it last night, and agree. Fantastic. Wes Anderson is a bit of a genius. Looks cool, great script, just a bit of a masterpiece.

Also 'Up' is another good one. And I thought 'There Will Be Blood' was a great story, and Day Lewis was as great as he is in everything else.

This is one of my top 3 films of all time. Its a bloody long film which seems to go nowhere for the first 30 - 45 minutes but builds up the charachters well. Its one of those films I think about for a few days after I've seen it. Great script, great acting. Classic.

Totally agree-its in my top one
