Its fun having a conversation with myself. Watching the Perfect Storm at the moment. The kindest thing I can say is they have some good beards. As for the rest of it so far, the least said the better.

Can you believe how much hype surrounded the Perfect Storm when it came out? Purely on the basis of a big wave! It was a dull, dull film. But OH! the beards!

I watched a couple of films over Xmas.
Taken A bit OTT in places, but still quite enjoyable.
Ghost Town Quite enjoyed this actually after hearing mixed reviews. Not brilliant, but not bad.
In Bruges Was OK, again not brilliant. It did get annoying how every five minutes Colin Farrell would just keep repeating what a shithole Bruges was.
Tropic Thunder Load of shite, turned if off after 30 mins
Mercury Rising see above

Given the cast, writers etc, Tropic of thunder is appalling...really terrible, no discernible storyline and just not funny.

The problem with perfect storm is that it is based on fact, but the only known facts seem to be they went out in a boat, there was a big storm, they didn't come back. Hard to stretch that to over an hour and a half.
A friend kept telling me Tropic Thunder was funny. So I borrowed it and it wasn't. I fell asleep watching it.
So anyway now Jonathan Ross is dead to the BBC, can I do the Film 2010 reviews.

The only good thing about the movie was seeing Steve Coogan blown to pieces

Hopefully Kermode will get it, which would be ace.

Like for like swap then really. I know Kermode is a bit on the pretentious side (That thing about Liverpool he liked...my god) but he's good fun to watch, especially when something annoys him. Apparently Graham Norton is likely to get the Friday Night chat show. Won't be watching that one then.

I watched him do a review of the year thing over Christmas, where he basically said said that all the box office hits were shit, then waxed lyrical over some obscure, foreign films.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm partial to the odd foreign film myself (Not top shelf) but he seems to dislike films on the basis of how much the public like them, ie: if there's big attendences they're shit, if no ones ever heard of them, they're good.
