I thought 12 Years A Slave was terrible, bored me immensely, and was more style over substance. The book is far better.

I'm aware I am in a small minority with this opinion.

Watched this last night, it was a really good film/doc, a cross between the Wire and the X-Games.

I've got a free Sky Movies trial through Now TV. The added a few movies recently , one called Spring Beakers. Seduced by the idea of scantily clad 19 year olds I thought I'd give it a go.

Worst...Movie...Ever...

And stupidly I have some form of mental disorder that means I have to watch the film to the end.
Don't think watching scantily clad 19 year olds = mental disorder

That looks ace. I used to ride motocross and a nutty mate, when we were about 13/14, used to ride his RM250 (that bike was brutal for someone our age, it was a man's bike) on roads constantly, mainly because he loved to be chased by the cops. Obviously with a bike that does about 80mph on any surface, and gets there in the blink of an eye, he never got caught.

He is a heroin addict now though, so I think he eventually found his rush.

Weekend viewing consisted of 'prisoners' and 'django unchained'.
Both excellent

Watched Gravity. Kind of enjoyed it, but thought it was fairly average at the same time. Given all the positive reviews I was expecting more.

Watched Captain Phillips on Sunday.

Thought it was really good. I am probably opening myself up for about 100 replies but in general anything Tom Hanks is in, is usually pretty decent. Big, Forrest Gump, Green Mile all spring to mind.

He peaked with Batchelor Party. All downhill after that.

That film will live long in my memory as it was the first time I'd seen a bird's mound on TV.

I watched 'Filth' last night and thought it was very good. Loved the book mind, so as long as they didn't deviate massively from that I was always going to enjoy it. The changes that were made were entirely appropriate and well justified.

Loved the book myself.

James McAvoy did a pretty good job. I don't think they portrayed the tapeworm side of it all at all well though, that part just seemed strange and confusing in the movie. Still enjoyed the film though.

Agreed on the tapeworm bit, but that was always going to be a challenge. Not sure I would have got that had I not read the book. It was a good idea to have Rossi represent the tapeworm I guess just not perfectly executed.
