Tropic thunder is a massive steaming pile of horse crap, whose only selling point as far as I could see was they had a white man playing a black man.

Watched 'in time' the other night, it was OK. Great concept but the acting/directing was flat at times.

What really stood out for me is how much I'd love to rodger the bejaysus out of that bird with the big eyes.

Rewatching some David Lynch films as my girlfriend hadn't seen them, watched Lost Highway last night and Mulholland Drive tonight. I don't know how many times I've seen it before but tonight was the first time a lot of it made sense...

Anyone know why I can't find Eraserhead, Blue Velvet and Dune on DVD?

I watched Eraserhead in the early hours (3am-ish) of a all-nighter at the Tyneside Cinema. I couldn't stop thinking about it for about a week afterwards.

I'm surprised by the lack of R2 DVD distribution for Lynch. A few distribution companies have gone out of business in the last few years so perhaps that has something to do with it.

Elephant Man is his best work (in my opinion).

I believe it was your copy I watched... if you don't want it, I'll take it off your hands for a pint and a packet of pork scratcherings

I've got Tinker Tailor, In Time, The Ides of March and Colombiana to watch at some point. Think I'll leave my brain in neutral and start off with one of the action films before building up to Tinker. The twists and turns in the book make me think it could be quite a headfuck.

Saw Friday Night Lights the other week, the best sports film I've ever seen, just pips Any Given Sunday. Worth a watch.
