Just finished watching napolean dynamite again. I can understand why people don't get it, but for me it's one of the funniest films ever.

You mean the one with Martin Freeman in?

I avoided it when first shown because I though I'd have the same opinion as you. Then I watched it second time round and loved it.

Suppose you can't please all of the people all of the time.

New "series" (3 episodes) starts on New Years Day.

I think he means the Guy Ritchie films.

Yeah, the Guy Ritchie ones. Remember when Guy Ritchie made a couple of good films?

I didn't really get it. Maybe one or two laughs, but it didn't really work for me and I wanted to like it a lot.

On Indie fare, I watched Submarine the other day (Moss's film) which was pretty good but very shoegazy. Funnier than Napoleon Dynamite.

That's a pity. Submarine's a decent film though

Oh right, doh!

Well then , I recommend the BBC modern day Sherlock with Martin Freeman as Watson and Benedict Cumberbatch as Holmes.

The BBC Sherlock is brilliant.I also enjoyed both films though to be honest.

Funny how the BBC and Hollywood both re-imagined Sherlock Holmes around the same time. Looks like I'm not the only one that thinks the BBC did a far better job on a fraction of the budget - I can imagine the Hollywood execs were saying "why the fuck didn't we think of doing it like that" to each other.

Thought the first episode was one of the finest pieces of drama I've ever seen, went downhill a bit after that but was still excellent. Just a pity they didn't make a proper series out of it rather than a few episodes here and there.

Indeed, just another 3 episodes this time out too. Moffat is busy with Dr Who I suppose.

So I watched Ghost Protocol - it was pretty good as far as M:I films go I still think the 3rd one was better but this had a couple of good chases. Loved the cheese and the outlandish gadgetry.
