Many of you were adament that this was a season of consolidation and mid table would be a fine.I of course said anything but promotion was failure. So here we are in November sitting fourth with a new manager what are your expectations now?

Surely anything but promotion is failure in everybody eyes now?

I said in the summer that anything less than automatic promotion and I would slash my wrists. I still say the same now.

I am very confident I will not have to carry out my threat.

When little Dennis left I was of the opinion that unless the Board appointed a half whit or shaved a monkey and made it manager or something along those lines, that whoever they appointed we should still get automatic promotion. I am pleased to say Paul Sturrock is considerably better than a shaved monkey.

Good thread Yeovil.

I said play offs was the bare minimum.

It still is, but we really should be going up automatically. It would be something on a failure on Sturrocks part if he failed to achieve this - given the position we are in, the squad we have, and the length of time Sturrock has to work with the existing players and recruit his own.

I think I began by thinking mid table and battling for the play offs (based on our squad).

The results at the start suprised me, recent form is what I expected, but I do think Sturrock will mould a winning team.  It won't be pretty but I now think we'll be play offs challenging for the top 3.  I haven't seen them, but results wise Walsall look a good bet for top spot.

Top 3 at the least, personally I want the title.  Walsall havent had a big blip yet they will at some point and Sturrock by that point will have us on fire and marching up the league.  Beers

Automatics for me... You have to get out of this division straight away or become Bristol Rovers.

I think we will get our automatic promotion, but can't help but think it would be better for the club financially to go up through the playoffs.

Not to mention a great day out in cardiff!!

So i'm kind of hoping we end up 4th and then destroy the playoffs.

Put £150.00 on us to go up as Champions before the season started at 9/1.
Think I might have lost my dosh, but I still expect automatic promotion.

Pre-Wise I'd have snapped at mid-table given the record of recently relegated sides in the division.

Setting sights a little higher I'd say top three has to be on the cards.
