Recruiting 7-8 decent money players that are better than the 7-8 decent money players we've let go should not be too tricky.
Upgrading on Lancashire, Robertson, Richards, Taylor, Vigs should be liking shotting fish in a barrel.

Looks easy enough on paper, but isn't. Remember when Flitcroft had to do the rapid rebuild, he said that for every position he'd be talking to around 5 players, because you might get 1 to sign. Last season showed the sort of thing... Brown offered to Moore and McGivern.... Moore preferred bench sitting at Franchise... McGivern preferred a return to Linfield. We got LMc, who for obvious reasons was happy enough to get any gig, and then loaned in Nelson, as he couldn't find a centre half, for a permanent deal. So it's likely that assuming Conroy doesn't sign, Wellens will be speaking to at least 10 centre halves... of whom 2 might fancy it. Ideally you'd want the 2 to be top of the list, but it may be you end up with your last picks....

Wonder what will become of Diagouraga this season. Should be like a new signing if we get a good pre season out of him. Hope it's not a case of Wellens doesn't fancy him and that's that. Him, Rose and Doughty should be running games most weeks.

Not too fussed if TD comes good or not, by that I mean I wouldn't mind if he left, we got very little football out of him last term so if we can move him on we could add a presumably sizeable wage to the budget.
We, unfortunately, saw him nowhere near his best so it doesn't feel like we're missing anything if he isn't here this season. If we can get the best out of him he should be an asset but you'd imagine Rose, Doughty and May will be our preferred 3 CMs anyway.
On balance I think I'm in favour of moving him on if it means we can afford a good striker or winger in his place.

Good news. Is that the centre of defence sorted now?
Looks to have run into some difficulty when painting a ceiling. Noticed that quite a few players at all levels have had similar problems.

Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change? Crap!

Only a 1 year deal though? Presume there must be a trigger clause unless Conroy himself said he only wanted a year?

Have a good season and we go up, re-sign. Have a good season and we don't go up, leave. Have a shit season, who knows. His choice I reckon but could work for everyone.

You'd suspect we would have wanted two years, but it's all good. Didn't Wellens say that Baudry was offered an extension based on appearances, yet backed himself by turning it down? Don't really follow the logic of how that's backing himself.

Higher salary without the security, gambling that he'll have a good year and we'll extend.

Fair point. Would have thought that he wouldn't end up playing enough to trigger anyway, if his form wasn't good. Gives more control to the player if he has a good season and we want to extend, so far as I can see.

I see there are pics of the players on their first day back on the OS. Don't see any pics of McGlashan In one of the pics I thought Jon Obika was there wearing number 3, turns out it was Kyle Reid!
