The biggest question mark over personnel for me was the GK, and I thought wassisface in goal did well today. Bar the mistake at the end of course.

Indeed, although every time I hears his name mentioned I heard "metal guru" song going through my head.

He looked very assured and commanded his area well and could also come out to challenge attackers, even though he was pretty lucky with his first challenge early on that could easily have been a penalty.

Nice to see we can still fanny around at the back, though.

I still don't understand when we are under pressure in our own box, what's wrong with a good clearing hoof.

Both Turnbull and Williams on a couple of occassions actually found touch when under pressure.....something none of our defence did last season which cost us a few goals, hopefully they have learnt from last year and we will sometimes whack it into the stands when under pressure instead of playing it out all the time at all costs.

Is Smudge on his way out? Not on the bench.

Usual pre-transfer 'injury' keeping him out?

He wants a move back nearer his family in the North East so I hear.

Big difference between wanting away and a club up there wanting him

"Michael Smith missed today with a dead leg, sustained in midweek win over QPR."

OST said...
'it is generally acknowledged within football that the Scousers are pretty knowledgeable'

I thought is was well known that that's just a load of media installed bollocks. Liverpool fans are no more knowledgable than any other set of supporter. You get your good ones, you get your morons. I'm sure this would apply at Anfield, especially these days.

Got to admire the energy their sub has for his age. Oh and admire the adver reporting yet again..

Ha they changed it, 188 years old indeed.

Well I enjoyed that. We look much better with turnbull in the side and the new keeper did himself no harm at all with an assured display. I think the winning goal was very harsh as the ball could have gone anywhere off his glove.

Robert looks classy, the 2 Liverpool lads don't look bad either and we still pass the ball about confidently.

My one slight criticism would be that we don't look that dangerous going forward, but we have been playing much better opponents than we would normally face week in week out. Great finish from Obika and a good move as well.

Overall, if we can get 2/3 more in, I'll be confident we can look to challenge the play-offs this season.

I felt more comfortable with Branco in the side than I thought I would.

Yes me also. He made one tremendous run down the right wing before falling over.

Is James Dayton a competition winner? I'm not convinced he's a professional footballer.

I think reports of our demise have been greatly exaggerated.

It will be oh so similar to last season. Moments from the sublime to the ridiculous.

Traore off with tight hamstring - could be OK sooner

He looks like your atypical hobo.
