All talking about new contracts...

POOK: Interesting, Thought he was one to go but after being on the bench against Rovers I guess Malpas still see's something in Pook. I guess wanted for cover more than anything else??

JJACK SMITH: Deserves a new contract. I'd go as far as to say he has been one of our best players for the last few weeks since returning.

COMMINGES: Been covered, Sign now!!

VINCENT: Has done ok at the back and is vocal, I am sure there is someone better out there but he is exeperienced and probably deserves another year.

Surpised to see pooky offered a new deal, thought malpas was easing himn out of the picture.

I'd like to see us sign 2 new left backs, and vincent to be considered a centre back from now on.

I think the Pook arguement is now over, the lad brings nothing to this level, I hope he goes elsewhere and does well (down a league or two maybe) but if MM is looking to play the game properly Pook will not figure.

I'd assume Pook isn't too hard on the wages - he's only ever played for us... Useful back-up...

Not a fan of Vincent (1-1 vs Boston comes to mind)
I still think the key to next season is a decent left back, Vincent is a back up at best

Pook - dont think so, I'd get rid.....Chrissy Allen is a better player as is Easton, Peacock and Timlin. Maybe Pook is being offered a short term contract so we dont run out of midfielders, if Timlin doesnt sign and Peacock continues to be a striker. Is Allen still injured?

Vincent - good old expirenced head, organises the defence well. Decent cover for left back.....but should be back a centre back from now on....maybe even first choice the way the defence has been last few games

Comminges - hopefully he'll stay

Smith - when he gets a run in the team, he's good.....

You mean:

Pook: Can I have a new contract Mr Malpas?

Malpas: No

Pook: Ok then, see you around

I personally don't see why Pook is at this level, however he has now played for numerous managers who must see something in him as they keep playing him and offering him new deals.

^ Thats what I think. Why can't we see it? He does play well every now and then, but not good enough if we really want to push on IMO. I'd give Chrissy Allen a go instead, technically a better player although a bit lightweight at the moment.

We have also had a chat with Michael Pook because he is in the situation where he has earned another contract, but he would be a squad player at best here next season. He wants to be playing regular first team football and has gone away to assess his options.

does that quote mean we have to offer Pook a new deal because he's played x amount of games?
