Winger Albert Jarrett is set to join Premiership newcomers Watford from
League One Brighton on Monday.

The 21-year-old is undergoing a medical after agreeing a one-year
contract with the Hornets.

"We don't forsee any problems with the medical and the deal wil be
completed by the end of the day," Watford spokesman Iain Moody told BBC
Sport.

The former Arsenal schoolboy joined Brighton in 2004 and was
subsequently loaned to Franchise and Stevenage.

But Seagulls boss Mark McGhee had a word of warning for Watford.

"If he has gone up there and done the same thing he did when he was here
for the first couple of weeks then he probably impressed," he told The
Argus. "It will be in the longer term.

"Maybe with what happened to him here the penny will drop.

"They are taking him for exactly the same reasons we did.

"When he came here for the first couple of weeks on trial he looked as
if he had something really different.

"He's got that explosive pace, he can cross a ball with his left foot.

Saw him play for Watford yesterday in a friendly against Chievo. Substitutions wern't announced at half time, so nobody had a clue who he was on the pitch. Until with about 10 minutes to go after he had won a penalty and had the fans cheering his every touch, the name Albert Jarrett began circling the stands.

He looked really good I have to say but will be interesting to see how he comes on. Right now my friend whose a Watford season ticket holder is half expecting him to start the first game of the season against Everton such is the impression he made on them (and the absence of any sort of right winger).

Having sensed something familiar about him I can't help but laugh. Fair play to the lad, he must have a really good agent to get a chance at a Premiership club, having been released by Brighton.

They must be desperate, he's a left winger.
