I’m a Broadbent fan. If he is off I hope he gets a real good gig.
Same here. I thought he was a real classy player when he was at its best. THAT Broadbent would still be a starter I reckon, shame it all went wrong.

5 and 10 left vacant.
Was Doughty 10 (answering my question, yes he was)? if so I assume the numbers were submitted prior to Saturday and hence its emptiness. Sad about Broadbent, although it did seem from the podcast interview that he was rather pissed off with Wellens handling of the personal issues, possibly didn't help diplomatic relations by talking about it in public. Agree hope he gets a gig!

Sadly for Broadbent between injuries and personal issues he’s basically a waste of a wage now and doesn’t have the quality to justify taking a gamble. Final nail in the coffin was Colchester home game last season I feel, was beyond terrible that day and couldn’t even head a ball. He doesn’t have the quality to take the ball from the keeper when under pressure either so doesn’t suit the way we play when building from the back.

If he's surplus to requirements, I'd really hope that he can find a contract in League 2.

Reckon he’ll struggle, 28 with only 50 league appearances and lots of injury problems doesn’t bode well.

A pity because, he seems like a thoroughly decent chap

Well, it sounds like our player sponsorship has gone one step further this season. Not only guaranteed a shit season, but ruined his career..
Let's sign someone we all hate and sponsor them..

I think we should give serious thought to sponsoring Oxford's best player

It could have a certain amount of comedic value for sure.

Won Broadbent’s shirt in the sponsored evening raffle last year. Berniman posted it off, last seen in Adelaide!
