It seems to have ironed out quite nicely, because to be fair to the lads, it was an awful batting track on Day One. Pollock- who knows the pitch better than anyone- reckons it gets worse again later- but no evidence of that yet. I think we'll bat all day and declare overnight, and SA will probably have a go early tomorrow, and if they lose wickets early then they can just sit back and block out a draw, or if they succeed with their all guns blazing tactic, then they'll win. The South Africans seem to think he scores as fast as Gilchrist with their unbelievably defensive fields, but in fact he scores little faster than the rest of our top order. Great work by Geraint Jones as well, completely demoralised the South Africans with some awesome hitting.
When Graham Thorpe came to the crease things were very much in the balance but he's given us an excellent chance here.
