Given that most of it has already been leaked over the past week (what really is the point in a speech any more?) I'm not expecting any huge surprises.

Maybe something to try and sway some votes ahead of the election.

It really makes no difference to me. Any tax 'cuts' I benefit from will just be offset by different tax increases.

So far I've counted two policies (Internet of Things support and Deed of Variation changes) which literally only appear to exist in order to make a joke about Ed Milliband.

Expect large scale public funding for Aardman Animations shortly.

Devil in the detail, but Help to Buy ISAs where you save £200 and the Govt tops you up with £50 sounds fantastic for me...if I can do that every month, 25% interest savings? Must be a catch.

Maximum relief of £3,000.

3k each is better than a kick in the teeth, and £200 per month savings cap is about all we could put aside anyway.

I wonder if it only applies to our historic churches.....or do mosques, gurdwaras, synagogues etc qualify?

To be fair, some of those jokes were pretty well worked. I wondered if they had a comedian / script writer helping out.

Think the Agincourt one was my favourite, though I'm not sure it was worth £1m.

Well, according to the Grauniad
Quote
Osborne is said to come up with many of his own one-liners, but he has also been helped with his key speeches in the past by his economic adviser, Rupert Harrison, and Daniel Finkelstein, the Tory peer and Times columnist.
Don't think any of those are likely to be appearing on Apollo Live any time soon.

DC won line of the day in my opinion though when he quipped during pmq's (something along the lines of) 'I do feel sorry for the leader of the opposition though, as he genuinely doesn't know where his next meal is coming from'. Well it made me laugh.
