Very sad at this age...remember him as a 100% player and always seemed to be abit under rated.

Yes that is sad news, he was no age.

Always gave 100% when playing against us a real battler with a very strong "engine" RIP.

Bone cancer.

Birch played for Wolves in that 3-2 in '94 I mentioned the other week (Beauchamp goal). One of my favourite games as a kid.

Very sad, he was a decent footballer.

'Towards the end of his career Paul played in the same team as my son.It was Halesowen Town in the Southern League Premier.They had quite a few ex-pros come and play for them,many coming to stroll around,take the money and do nothing.Paul Birch was the exception.Every game he played he gave his all,running himself into the ground,spraying passes all over the park,never giving up until the final whistle.He was the finest ex-pro I've ever seen in non league football.'

remember him well.right mid with the 80's blonde permed hair.was a player that stood out when playing us,and he deffo sticks in the mind.i got his autograph when i was a kid.no age to go rip
