The greatest player ever to wear a Swindon shirt. Shorts hitched up, elbows sharpened and ready to go. The fun he'd have against our back 4 even at 50. I see on the thisis site there is an imposter called Chalkies very high shorts. Its not me as they seem to know what they're talking about.

As was every free kick he won and every offside decision given his way. He was so quick he'd be given offside even if he was 10 yeards on.

Everyone looks for something different. In my eyes the greatest because he was the greatest entertainer on the pitch. The most talented - no. If it came down to pure instinct he was the boss. If he had time to think he wasn't so clever. He was one of the fittest players I've ever seen and chased every single lost cause. His attitude was 100%. He was also the best wind up artist I've seen on a football pitch. He really worked his defender ( and the ref ) and never gave him a moments rest - verbally and physically. I could relate to him like no other player before or since.

I recall a game when Chalkie scored hat trick v Mansfield in 87, Friday night ko, I'd scored a hat trick myself earlier in a game on the astro at Dorcan...I was feeling well past it by then...strangely I'm not much older than Mr White.

what a cult hero he was.shorts up to his neck, not a clue about the offside rule, the two handed celebrations towards the north stand, his poor touch.but above all that his knack of scoring goals or falling over to win pens makes him a legend imo.
