It's to specify which end of the ground you are in I suppose, if asked. Getting in is by barcode.

Actually i didn't notice. My mrs said why are we playing Charlton..... whaaaaaaaat... So i'm a dopey arse who keeps my tickets too. I've actually got a huge frame at the top of the stairs with loads in dating back to the dark ages.
