my computer keeps disconnecting itself from the internet. it's most annoying. i use buffalo dongle and have checked and the driver is as up to date as can be, however it just keeps doing it. also, potentially linked, keep being told "windows has stopped working and will close" (or words to that effect) except i click ok and it stays open. any ideas what could cause that? lots of love andy Title: Re: computer disconnects itself from t'internet Post by: herthab on Monday, December 7, 2009, 08:23:36 No idea at all.

Don't know if that'll help you as I use a network that is provided by my building management and requires a password, I think it times out automatically.

Because i remember having problems on my old Laptop with it's own config prog and removed everything to do with the wireless, turned on the hardware, letting windows find it, then browsed for just the driver on it's disk, therefore allowing windows to use the Zero Config utility instead. I reckon Barry is right and windows and the Buffalo wireless program are conflicting (if you have it installed). |
