Anyone tried/using one of these?  :sherlock:

Before I gave up I tried them. I thought they were pretty shit. They tasted nothing like fags (tasted like a smoke machine in a nightclub) and mine was eventually thrown away and I gave up properly. *smug*

I've got 2 of them, both pretty rubbish,  they taste like watery bonfire smoke, consigned to the drawer, along with the patches and micro tabs. Not much hope for me I think.

I quit for about a year using these, found it quite easy at the time.

Then i remembered that smoking is cool and started up again

Try Champix, I gave up with them (for three months before I started again) will go back on them in the next couple of months and give up for good this time.

Prescription only though

Champix worked for me.  Will be 4 years off the fags come December 22nd.

I was a heavy smoker and champix did the job for me.

Heard a couple of good reviews about vype...

Sis in law and niece use the ones from asda - ok cigarettes

Altho they both say the tobacco filters taste like shit so both use the menthol ones
I went the champix route and not looked back really tho only been about 3 months so far

I was once recommended this book by somebody I worked with.

He recommended it to me while he was on a break, smoking a cigarette. Needless to say I never got around to it.

A mate of mine, who doesn't smoke, decided that electronic fags, look quite cool, unlike the real thing, so has started using one

champix worked for me to an extent, lasted about 3 years and i started again, this time round was straight up cold turkey.

I 'gave up' lots of times over 15-20 years, but the book helped me to stop - Never wanted to start again since. It helped lots of people I know too - Different stokes for different folks as they say.

Absolutely. I've given it to several people. Half of them don't bother to read it, and the rest don't finish it, or decide they'll give up "tomorrow".  :crash:

I smoked 30 a day for 30 years, stopped with champix 2 years ago.  Started to struggle after 6 months so got an e-cig.  Pretty dependent on it, but still not lit up!

There are loads of different products & I tried several before I found one that suited.

No. It's actually Allen Carr and he's dead now. From lung cancer. Which incidentally one of my best friends just informed me a parent of his has. And it's terminal.

Can anyone recommend a starter kit, I have seen that they range in price from £10 to £60  ???

I used SkyCig.  Mainly because they are the same size as a regular fag, I think my addition was to as much the action of smoking/the feeling of holding a fag in your hand as it was to Nicotine so this was my choice of tool.

Is that nearer the £10 price tag?  :)

A pack of refill cartridges is around that mark so i guess a starter kit is around £30

The only way to quit is with will power I think. All of the options out there don't work unless you really want to quit. I went from regular smoker,to only when I drank with the odd one pinched off a mate to nothing. Took ages but aint touched a fag for years now. Don't even have the odd spliff anymore either

It is mainly willpower. The last time I gave up was for 18 months, and the only time I really struggled was at the end of the day. I think if there were electric fags around then that might have sorted me out. We'll see in a few weeks anyway :)
