Bury surely is the home of black pudding?
Bury black pudding has too much fat in it.

I found the same when I tried Bury black pudding. Wasn't impressed at all.

100% you cannot beat Stornaway black pudding, good gentle spicing on it too. I buy it mail order from Stornaway, chop it into managable sized chunks as its the size of a forearm when it comes and freeze them down in sealed bags.

Do you prefer your black pud with oats or barley....or a mixture of both? Prefer barley myself!

Just demolished a large salad with hot roast chicken. The party piece was some rather nice balsamic vinegar & cloudy virgin olive oil dipped with buttered malted granary omg.

Off the pills for my diabetes now, been given a once weekly self administered jab. It’s not insulin but a pleasing side effect is it also acts as an appetite suppressant. Along with the diet change should be shedding a bit of timber.
I’ll hopefully be a svelte Audrey upon my return!

Congratulations, I’ve Just been diagnosed with type 2, got a call at the game in Northampton from the doc as my blood sugar level was apparently “dangerously high “. To be honest I felt fine before & not really any different in the tablets

Been diagnosed a year now - initial glucose was a huge 327! Got it down to hovering over the 100 but gradually it started going up again. Just started on the jab. Could cause nausea and the shits.
I only went in the first place because I was drinking and peeing a lot. Found it easy to cut out fizzy drinks and cakes/chocolate but harder with the bread/rice/pasta.

I only got detected because my blood pressure was high when I went for my flu jab. I had a blood test & then when tested my glucose level was apparently 27 (which is almost 500) so was lucky they picked it up.
In hindsight I had been drinking a lot of water as I was always quite thirsty.
Does make you wonder how many people are walking around with really high levels without having any idea

Not sure if we have a Men's Health thread but sometimes it's good to talk and share personal experiences which could help us all.
