Not sure how this passed me by at the time, but no ice in your Coke, no mayo in your sandwich and no singing...

What a complete mongoloid

Expecting very highly paid professional athletes to avoid mayonnaise is perfectly normal and shouldn't require any kind of iron fist.

I honestly think the reaction to some of Di Canio's 'authoritarian' rules says a lot more about the continued backward nature of English football than it does about the unreasonableness of Di Canio. It was the same when Fabio Capello banned the England team from using their mobile phones at the dinner table. Why the fuck were they doing that anyway?

People who want to lead a healthy lifestyle should avoid mayo, let alone professional athletes.

That's not true.

Makes the 'Red sauce, brown suace or no sauce at all' question a bit moot doesn't it?

There was a good discussion about Di canio on 5live last night. They mentioned a comment from Paul Benson.
He said that the players being league 2-1 maybe bought into Di Canio a bit more as they were not top players and knew he had been. As they were winning games they went along with it

and me

Does it hurt your teeth so you can't play ? I'd have thought it should have been cola that was off the menu ?

“We need to have lectures about why we can’t have every day things like mayonnaise, ketchup and coke.

“They can cause chemical problems to the liver, to the stomach. If you have ice with coke you can have indigestion. I know players who’ve had ice with their coke the night before a game and then couldn’t play. Even coffee can be a problem. You can have one when you get up, but not an hour before you go out training or playing. We give the players diet sheets to follow.

“Obviously, you have to enjoy life. I won’t say anything if one day you like to go and have a cheeseburger. I ban my daughter from going to places like that, but I know sometimes she goes because she enjoys it and because it’s typical of a student. It is all right, but not as a habit.”

I bet she gets up to all sorts at Uni in Southampton once she escaped his dictatorship

Tommy Miller singing his praises on SSN this morning, that's at least one ex-player who has something positive to say...
What did he say?
