Constable's not in a great position that's for sure. Or 'not in a good moment' as Paolo would say.

I read some of the abuse & threats he got on his Twitter from your fans it was pretty bad to be honest

Did it surprise you? Football fans are simple creatures, and they all act in the same way.

Correct, not many would have wished Mooney the best of luck on Twitter if it was around then of course when he trotted off to the Yellow Peril.

Not really everyone has knee jerk reactions in life but some of the tweets were pretty OTT.

He had a tweet from an Oxford 'fan' wishing him he'd die of cancer. How he could think of pulling on a yellow shirt again is beyond me

I agree.

Sounds stupid but I sometimes get the feeling that people forget they are messaging the actual person they are abusing on Twitter. Constable could easily involve the police (petty or not) if he wanted too.

I still think that Oxford United screwed the pooch a fair bit by making that statement.

Not quite. Which part of "Constable declines the chance to even speak to Swindon" don't you understand?
Much as you'd love it to be true, there's obviously more to it than your rather simplistic view. The Oxford board said earlier that they had spoken to the player and AGREED to let him talk to Swindon. It's pretty evident that he was keen to talk to (his favourite team) Swindon at that time.

I agree with the earlier post about him bottling it because of abuse he's received from a few oxford fans (or, more appropriately, morons) on Twitter.

I'd guess he'll be crying himself to sleep tonight wondering what on earth he's just done.

Either you're desperate for money or your manager doesn't want Constable anymore. I'm taking a punt on the former.

It's a bit of both, though without the desperation part with regard to the finances. See my reply to Batch on the previous page.

Many fans would have him down as an automatic starter, but our manager hasn't been afraid to drop him.

Maybe Im just to reasonable, but when players I like have left I just unfollowed them on twitter and forgot about them?  Is that not the normal reaction?

Not really, I guess it's easy to do that via Social Media.

In the past people would have posted that kind of shite on forums, which the player could easily ignore.

I guess that's what it's like being in the public eye in this day and age.

I would imagine that most of the mongs that tweeted him with that kind of shite, wouldn't have the balls to say anything to his face.
